One Photo, Infinite Editing Possibilities

At the Learn Photography editorial team, we regularly bring you various topics from the world of photography. You can find tips and interesting facts that inspire you and help you improve your skills. We launched a series of challenges on a single theme, which brought many variations in processing. This time, however, we took a different approach – we were curious about how you would handle a sample photo. Your creativity and skills have amazed us!

We received dozens of amazing edits, each one original and unique. We carefully reviewed all your images and selected the most interesting ones that impressed us with their creativity and technical execution. Thank you to all the readers who participated in this new challenge.

I removed all distracting elements from the original photo and changed the colors and composition of the image. Additionally, I highlighted the child’s reflection in the water at the front of the picture. I applied a gradient filter and resized it to a 4:3 ratio. Finally, I added a frame.

First, I adjusted the comparison of the overflowing sea. Then I cropped it into my favorite square format, avoiding any need to remove distracting or blurred elements. Finding and applying the right texture took the longest. I titled the photo “David and Goliath.”
