Colors are everywhere around us. But photographers see them a bit unusually; they strongly sense contrasts and gradients between colors. And so in today’s selection of the best photos on Zonerama, you’ll find photos where colors are what makes them distinctive.
A solid sports photo with superb technical quality and a great depiction of the athlete’s expression. The fans in the background and the great use of depth of field add a lot of atmosphere. Photo: Gridiron Victoria : John Torcasio Photography
While this photo has subdued colors, even a subdued red is very striking. And the light, composition, and mood are fantastic. Photo: Nebojsa Stanojlovic
An interesting picture where an HDR edit has drawn out the colors and emphasized the smoke boiling out of the motors. The only sour note is the fractured background. Photo: CrackerTwice
This picture could practically be from an actual car race. But it’s just a model car. This is a wonderfully executed example of the technique called panning. Photo: Leni Valkovi
What with the striking contrast of the lavender lanes and the red tractor, we couldn’t help but include this photo in today’s Colors edition of Editor’s Choice on Zonerama. Photo: Milander
